Ivory Coast forward Gervinho expects Brazil and Portugal to go full tilt at each other when they meet in their final Group G match on Friday.

With Carlos Queiroz's team having crushed North Korea 7-0 in their previous game, the Elephants have to do something similar and hope the already qualified Brazilians come out on top in the highly-anticipated clash in Durban if they are to progress.

There have been suggestions that Dunga might rest some of his key figures for the game in a bid to give fringe players a game.

But Gervinho said: "I do not think they will take the foot off the peddle.

"First, the Brazilian and Portuguese players will want to honour the opportunity to represent their respective countries and cannot afford not to give everything.

"Then they will also be hoping to play a less powerful opponent in the second round."

The Lille striker is also keen for the he and his team-mates to make people in the west African country proud.

He added: "The most important thing is to win this game.

"We must hold our heads up high and get a win in this competition for the Ivorian people."
