The Institute of Tourism Studies (ITS) and the Malta Union of Teachers (MUT) signed a new collective agreement for the academic staff today, ending a long-running dispute.

The agreement was signed by Reginald Abela, Chairman at ITS; John Bencini, President of the MUT.

The new collective agreement, which is backdated to 1st January 2007, provides for better working conditions and better salaries for the academic staff.

The signatories have also agreed to continue discussing the current teaching load and the maximum number of contact hours for the academic staff.
