Twelve students from St Martin's College, Swatar, and a number of Malta Enterprise (ME) officials recently obtained Plida Italian language diplomas through the Società Dante Alighieri.

The students were awarded Plida A1 and A2 diploma for their Italian speaking, writing, reading and listening abilities while the ME officials obtained a Plida diploma in commercial Italian after attending sessions with director of courses Mario Pace and Martin Micallef.

Other schools have approached the society's local centre to enable their students to obtain this certification, which is recognised both locally and in Italy. For details on the centre's autumn programme starting next month, including a new course for adults combining culture, language and conversation, call 2123 8408, 7923 8408 or view the website www.dantemalta.org.
