Leading IT company 6pm will be opening a branch in Gozo, it was announced during a visit the Minister for Investment, Industry and IT, Austin Gatt, paid to the company offices in Naxxar.

Ivan Bartolo, the company's managing director, said the Gozo branch would provide an opportunity for those in Gozo wishing to seek a career in IT but preferred not to commute to Malta on a daily basis.

Dr Gatt said the announcement by 6PM is another major investment by the services industry in Gozo. This follows a decision by HSBC that opened a service centre there and which will be inaugurated shortly.

The company was set up in 1996 and today employs 70 people with over 30 contractors used on an ongoing basis.

The company was floated on the Malta Stock Exchange last September.
