An Irish woman suffered serious injuries when the car she was driving, a Tata Indica, left the road and plunged a height of one storey.

The incident happened at St Paul’s Bay Bypass late this morning.

The woman, 27, who is resident in St Paul’s Bay, was pulled from  the wreckage by the rescuers of the Civil Protection Department and given assistance on the spot by an ambulance team before being rushed to Mater Dei.

Her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
