Ireland's Foreign Minister Dermot Ahern paid a courtesy visit to the team members of the EU-funded Tourism and Support Services Training Programme, made up of representatives from MISCO, the Irish consultancy firm Optimum Results and the MTA, who are leading the project. Mr Ahern was visiting Malta as part of the official visit by Ireland's President, Mary McAlesse.

Both President McAlesse and Minister Ahern are strong supporters of SME skills and development. Minister Ahern was extremely interested in the MTA's training programme for 55 small businesses in the tourism/hospitality and catering sector and also offered his support to this initiative.

The Training Support for SMEs forms part of the Tourism and Support Services Training Programme, which is partly funded by the EU's European Social Fund.
