The investment registration scheme is being extended by two months, until November 30, the Finance Ministry said.

It said that a legal notice to give effect to the extension would be issued shortly.

The scheme, which is administered by the Central Bank, provides individuals the opportunity to register undeclared assets, located both locally and abroad.

Registration of assets will be done against a registration fee of 7.5 per cent of the value of the asset, while a rate of five per cent will apply in the case of assets abroad and which are repatriated.

The scheme was launched by the ministry in June in response to various recent changes in the global financial landscape.

Further information on this Scheme is available from the Central Bank and registration agents.
