An investiture ceremony of the Commandery of the Castello - Malta of the Military and Hospitaller Order of St Lazarus of Jerusalem, was recently held at Torri Lanzun, San Ġwann.

During the ceremony awards in the companionate of merit were presented to Jacqui Maidens, Vincent Bonello and Joe Smith in the grade of officer and to Gerry Maidens in the grade of commander.

Based in Malta, the Military and Hospitaller Order of St Lazarus of Jerusalem began in the 11th century. The Order gives humanitarian aid to many countries in the Third World, particularly to leprosy clinics. Members are committed to work for Christian unity.
