MFA president Norman Darmanin Demajo has revealed that in February he received a letter from a foreign company that matches from the local Premier League are likely being targeted for illegal betting.

The agency wrote that the betting on certain matches played in Malta didn't make sense.

Bjorn Vassallo, the Malta FA CEO, said the police investigation into allegations that four Malta players accepted bribes to throw the Euro 2008 qualifier against Norway is progressing.

Darmanin Demajo had a meeting with Police Commissioner about this case around three weeks ago.

The Malta FA have given the police the list of players, staff, officials and media personnel who travelled to Norway for that Euro 2008 qualifier which took place in June 2007.

MFA officials are expected to have another meeting with the police next week.
