Interpol issued a worldwide alert yesterday for 86 inmates who broke out of a badly overcrowded prison in Ivory Coast on February 22, branding them a danger to the West Africa region.
Sent to all of Interpol's 187 member nations, the so-called "Orange Notice" includes details from Abidjan that could help snare the fugitives at border crossings, the international police liaison agency said.
"These men are dangerous and... their activities represent a security concern not only for Cote d'Ivoire but for the entire region, too," said Interpol secretary general Ronald Noble.
