On the occasion of its 50th anniversary, the Malta Table Tennis Association will be holding a four-team international tournament between today and Sunday at the University Sports Hall, Tal-Qroqq.

Malta's opponents in this tournament are Isle of Man, Guernsey and a German team from Leipzig.

Coach Mario Genovese, currently preparing his players for next June's GSSE in Malta, has selected the following players for the competition: (men) Edward Baldacchino, David Pace, Timothy Buttigieg, Alex Soler; (women) Johanna Grech, Christine Cassar Torreggiani and Roxanne Palla.

Stefano Bosi, president of the European Table Tennis Union, will be attending the opening ceremony to be held prior to the first game this evening.

Programme

Today - 6 p.m. Malta vs Guernsey; Isle of Man vs Leipzig.

Tomorrow - 10 a.m. Malta vs Leipzig; Guernsey vs Isle of Man; 4.30 p.m. Malta vs Isle of Man; Guernsey vs Leipzig.

Sunday - 9.30 a.m.-2 p.m. Singles tournament.
