Ray Bondin was part of a six-member international jury on restoration projects organised by the regional Government of Castille and Lyon in Spain.

This was the second time he was requested to form part of this jury.

The jury met to award prizes under the ARPA scheme for best practices in restoration projects on an international scale, in Spain and in the region.

The jury also awards two special mentions. ARPA is organised every two years. The rest of the jury was from Spain, Italy and Portugal.

Dr Bondin, manager, Capital Projects, at Heritage Malta, was also the keynote speaker at a conference dealing with climate change and heritage protection. The conference was organised by the Organisation of World Heritage Cities in Regensburg, Germany.

Entitled 'Earth, wind, water and fire: environmental challenges to urban world heritage', the conference dealt with the very strong changes occurring due to climate change and the challenges being faced in heritage cities.

Ray Bondin was asked to be a speaker in his capacity as president of CIVVIH, the International Committee of Historic Towns and Villages.
