An intergenerational two-day outdoor camp for over 100 people was recently held at the Mellieħa camp site.

The outdoor camp's objective was to communicate and discuss European policies on the environment, and information was disseminated through a series of interactive lectures given by qualified and professional trainers and animators. Topics included 'Air', 'Climate Change', 'Water' and 'Waste'.

Nature Trust and Birdlife Malta representatives provided guided nature walks. The project also discussed the Common Agricultural Policy, with particular reference to actions aimed at safeguarding and protecting the environment.

The Intergenerational Environment Awareness Outdoor Camp is one of the events forming part of an agreement signed between the Malta-EU Steering and Action Committee (Meusac) and the European Commission, and aims to bring Europe closer to its citizens and to address the communication gap between EU citizens and European Institutions.
