Raphaël Bourgeois, 33, has been appointed as rooms division manager at InterContinental Malta. Mr Bourgeois, who is French-Swiss, has been working within the hospitality industry for over 10 years. Before coming to Malta he was Director of Rooms at Kempinski Baltschug, Moscow and previously to that he spent two years at the Hilton, Algiers as rooms division manager.

Having graduated with a First law degree from the University of Assas Paris II, Mr Bourgeois then specialised in hotel management at the European Centre of International Hotel Management and later furthered his studies with an MBA in International Hospitality Management in association with Cornell University.

As rooms division manager of InterContinental Malta, Mr Bourgeois's main responsibilities and targets are to organise, manage, develop and coordinate all activities of the hotel's front office, housekeeping, kids club and guest relations departments.
