Honduran striker David Suazo scored twice to give Inter Milan a 2-0 home win over Livorno on Saturday and extend their lead at the top of Serie A to 11 points.

AS Roma can cut the gap back to eight if they win at third-placed Juventus in a 1930 GMT kickoff while midweek Champions League commitments mean AC Milan also travel to Parma later on Saturday.

Suazo made the most of his chance with Inter coach Roberto Mancini resting top strike duo Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Julio Cruz ahead of Tuesday's Champions League last 16 first leg at Liverpool.

He was virtually unmarked when he headed in Cristian Chivu's free kick on 14 minutes, although Italy reserve keeper Marco Amelia may be disappointed he did not stop the ball as it bounced into the middle of the goal.
Suazo soon netted his seventh of the campaign for the unbeaten champions after Livorno had failed to clear Maxwell's cross following a superb run from the left back.

Livorno, who drew 1-1 with Milan at the San Siro on Wednesday, were largely toothless without injured striker Francesco Tavano but Alessandro Diamanti did hit the post with a free kick.
