I think the authorities offer evening classes in the English language. Perhaps Berta Sullivan would do well to start attending them. For her knowledge of that language leaves much to be desired. In her article of October 3, in which she mentioned me, she said that Joseph Muscat "usurped" my seat in Parliament.
For Ms Sullivan's information, Dr Muscat did not "usurp" my seat. I gave it up in his favour out of my own free will for the love I have for Malta and the Labour Party.
Actually, I enjoyed her spinning. She's very good at that. Pity she's not writing fantasy novels - there's a very good market for them. Children and adults alike are fascinated by such literature. But that's not what serious politics is made of.
Someone who is seriously interested in politics and wants to comment in an intelligent fashion should not present spin as fact. All intelligent comment should start from facts, then go on to build a proper analysis, and, finally, reach conclusions. Needless to say, one can agree or disagree with such conclusions but, at least, one would have seen an intelligent methodology employed in reaching those conclusions.
Many politicians and commentators, of whichever persuasion, use such methodology for their articles. It is Ms Sullivan who is conspicuous for her flimsy, shallow, intellectually-feeble attempts at political comment. She is also conspicuous in presenting spin as fact. And now she has shown us her utter ignorance of the English language. Perhaps the PN could employ someone better to convey its political message.
