To date Malta has imported 51,540 single-phase and 5,492 three-phase meters at a cost of €2,915,100. Of these, 17,630 single-phase and 1,740 three-phase meters have been installed.

Answering a parliamentary question by Carmelo Abela (PL), Economy Minister Tonio Fenech said meters had been installed at Mdina, Manikata, Kirkop, Safi, Senglea and parts of Swieqi/L-Ibraġ, Gżira, Rabat and Dingli.

The meters still in hand were being stored by Enemalta Corporation, he added.
