Vladislava Kravchenko, the 18-year-old aspiring model who became paralysed when a lighting structure fell on her at a party last year, has collected almost €10,000 to pay for a rare medical intervention that could help her walk again.

However, the stem-cell treatment, which takes about two years to complete, could end up costing some €150,000, so she is still trying to come up with innovative ideas to raise funds.

She hopes to start treatment this month so that she would not have to miss much school and because the longer she waits, the lower her chances of recovery. To do this, she would need at least €20,000

Ms Kravchenko speaks to Christian Peregin.
