Economic Affairs Minister Chris Cardona said yesterday that he could not give information on the car allowance of the chairman of the Lotteries and Gaming Authority because the information was confidential.
He was replying to a parliamentary question by Nationalist MP Jason Azzopardi who asked him to confirm that apart from a salary of over €80,000, the LGA executive chairman used a vehicle which was costing the authority €900 a month. He asked whether this expense fell within the parameters of people in these positions.
The minister in his reply said such information was confidential and could not be given.
He said that under the PN government, the LGA had a separate chairman and CEO who were both entitled for a car. Now the LGA had one person who served as chairman and CEO and the costs for the LGA were lower.
