It is indeed unfortunate timing that the leader (November 23) was being penned at the same time as the new incubator was being used for the first time on November 22.

The incubator was put into service when it was fully safe to do so for patients, hospital staff, airline staff and other passengers on the aircraft.

I would like to point out that Paul Soler was the consultant responsible to ensure that the incubator and all its backing equipment was in place early Thursday morning before the go-ahead to commence transport was given to Mater Dei Hospital and Air Malta staff.

I would like to thank all those involved in this project for their dedication and hard work.
