Seasonally adjusted industrial production decreased by 2.0 per cent in July over June, but it was up by 7.1 per cent when compared to July 2014 after adjustment for working days, the NSO said today. 

In July, the seasonally adjusted index of industrial production decreased by 2.0 per cent to 100.0 points. Declines were registered in the production of intermediate goods (5.1 per cent), consumer goods (0.7 per cent) and capital goods (0.2 per cent). Increases were registered in the production of energy (2.8 per cent).

When compared to the corresponding month last year, the indexwent up by 7.1 per cent. This was mainly triggered by higher production of consumer goods (13.4 per cent), capital goods (7.6 per cent) and energy (7.2 per cent). On the other hand the production of intermediate goods declined by 1.1 per cent.
