Industrial action in all schools in Malta and Gozo planned for Wednesday in a dispute over kindergarten staff would not be taken, the Malta Union of Teachers said yesterday.

It said that, after a number of meetings held with the authorities, it was agreed that all the 45 successful candidates for the Kindergarten II interview would be employed in the grade of Kindergarten II.

It was also agreed the Education Ministry would be sending a letter to all supply grades who already had four years of service, confirming their indefinite status.

The relative increment dues are being processed.
