Industrial directives at University which were hindering the publication of the annual results of non-final year students were lifted following a breakthrough in the negotiations.

A statement issued by the government said that the deadlock was broken during a meeting held today between the Education Minister, the Malta Union of Teachers and the University of Malta Academic Staff Association.

The government said that there was common ground which could lead to an agreement. As a result both unions agreed to lift the directives, which had causes uproar among students.

Almost all results will be posted later today on the eSims network, a university intranet system.
