There were 30 cases of HIV and five of Aids last year, the highest in at least five years.

Of last year's cases, 17 involved immigrants, five involved other foreigners and 13 involved Maltese, Health Minister Godfrey Farrugia told Etienne Grech (PL) in reply to a parliamentary question.

With regard to TB, the minister said 41 cases were reported last year, of which 28 involved migrants, seven involved Maltese and six involved other foreigners.
