Hunters’ carnets de chasse, from which figures of shot-down birds are compiled, increased from 12,660 in 2010 to 13,486 in 2013.
Environment Minister Leo Brincat told Nationalist MP Charlo Bonnici in reply to a Parliamentary question that the number of carnets de chasse reached 13,511 in 2011 and dropped to 13,209 in 2012.
The lists of birds shot by hunters were compiled by the Malta Environment and Planning Authority together with the Wild Birds Regulation Unit.
