The number of births in  Malta and Gozo has increased between 2010 and 2012 – from 4,508 to 5,571 and 6,428.

Nationalist MP Ċensu Galea asked Home Affairs Minister Emanuel Mallia to table in parliament comparative statistics between male and female births in Malta and Gozo in the past years.

For 2010, boys born in Malta were 2,166 and girls 2,051; in 2011 the figures were 2,667 and 2,624 and last year 3,133 against 3021. As regards Gozo, the figures of the three years were 153:138, 138:142 and 154:120.
