The number of traffic fatalities this year up to the end of March had already reached a third of last year's exceptionally high total, information given in parliament shows. Home Affairs Minister Carm Mifsud Bonnici gave the following figures in reply to a parliamentary question:

The minister pointed out that as from March 2004, traffic accidents where no one was injured and no government property was damaged, started being investigated by local wardens.
