Malta's seas and coastal areas will serve as a set to film two episodes of the popular Discovery Channel programme, I Shouldn't Be Alive, that tells true survival stories.

The producers are looking for two body doubles to take part in one of the episodes that recounts the story of two people lost on an island, in the Atlantic Ocean, for several weeks.

The other episode is about a person who was lost at sea during a trip in Europe that started in Spain.

The filming started this week and will continue until next week at the Mediterranean Film Studios and in other localities, such as Marsaxlokk and coastal areas that are difficult to access, like St Thomas Bay in Marsascala and Il-Ħofra l-Kbira near Delimara.

"Malta was competing against the Canary Islands but was chosen because the channel felt Malta had a more secure film industry," a spokesman for the producers - Producer's Creative Partnership - said.

The series I Shouldn't Be Alive deals with survival stories about human endurance in extreme situations. Through Discovery Channel the series reaches millions of audiences worldwide. The doubles wanted by Discovery have to be of similar stature as the main actors and are required for filming on Friday after midday. They will have to be able to jump, feet first, from a popular diving spot that is 13 feet high.

One double should be about six feet tall and have a waist of about 52 inches. The other should be about 5'4" tall with a waist of about 38 inches. They must not be bald.
