Aloisi: Panathinaikos say that talks with Osasuna striker John Aloisi have not broken down despite media reports that the Australian international failed a medical. The 29-year-old signed a three-year deal with the Greek side last week but a knee problem reportedly came to light during the medical. Greek media reported that Aloisi is refusing an altered one-year deal and that talks between the two parties have broken down.

Mols: Former Netherlands striker Michael Mols has signed a one-year contract with ADO Den Haag. The 34-year-old striker left Utrecht, who he joined in 2004 after a five-year-spell at Glasgow Rangers, as a free agent. Mols, capped six times, has scored 127 goals in 356 first division matches.

Libel case: A libel action brought by Australian international Harry Kewell against former England striker Gary Lineker and the Sunday Telegraph has been settled out of court for undisclosed terms. A High Court jury was discharged last month when it failed to reach a verdict on the action taken by Kewell after comments in a newspaper article written by Lineker over the Australian's move to Liverpool in 2003.

In Argentina: Fans forced the Almagro-Boca Juniors match to be postponed on Sunday. The last day of the championship, where Velez Sarsfield clinched the title, also produced bizarre scenes at Lanus as visiting Olimpo celebrated on the pitch despite losing 5-0. Although they lost, Olimpo stayed up after fellow strugglers Argentinos Juniors lost 2-1 to Banfield. Almagro were leading Boca 3-2 in the 65th minute when their supporters began climbing the fences and threatened a pitch invasion. When Boca fans did the same, the referee called the match off.

Roger freed: Marc Roger, ex-president of bankrupt Servette Geneva, has been released on bail and admitted to hospital with nervous exhaustion. Frenchman Roger, a players' agent who took over the former Swiss champions in February 2004, has spent almost four months in jail on charges of bankruptcy fraud, improper management and breach of trust.
