TV schedule: The Spanish Professional Football League and TV companies have agreed the schedule for the opening round of matches in the Primera Liga next weekend. The new season will kick off with the city derby between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid at 8 p.m. on Saturday followed by Sevilla against Getafe at 10 p.m. The remainder of the games will be played on the Sunday.

Sissoko: Liverpool midfielder Mohamed Lamine Sissoko has been recalled by Mali for Wednesday's friendly against Burkina Faso in Paris after missing their last match because of injury. There is also a return to the squad for Stoke City striker Mamady Sidibe, the Mali Football Federation said.

Recoba: Inter president Massimo Moratti has told Italian media that Alvaro Recoba will not move to rivals Juventus despite his agent holding talks with the Turin club over dinner. "I knew about this dinner the other night in Milan. Recoba has freedom to sign for whoever he wants, and therefore he will not go to Juve," Moratti joked. Juve said last weekend no new signings were expected before the transfer window shuts on August 31.

Ljungberg: Sweden captain Fredrik Ljungberg of West Ham has pulled out of Wednesday's friendly against the United States in Gothenburg because of a groin injury. Defensive midfielder Tobias Linderoth of Galatasaray and AaB Aalborg striker Rade Prica have also withdrawn with injuries.

Rothen pulls out: PSG midfielder Jerome Rothen has pulled out of the France squad for friendlies against Slovakia's A and B teams this week because of a groin injury, the French Football Federation said yesterday. He will be replaced by Manchester United defender Mikael Silvestre.
