Tottenham: Tottenham are struggling with injury problems before tomorrow's visit to Arsenal for their biggest game of the season. There are doubts over striker Mido, central defender Anthony Gardner, midfielders Teemu Tainio and Edgar Davids while captain Ledley King is already out of the campaign with a broken foot. If Gardener is not fit Calum Davenport will again partner Michael Dawson at the heart of the defence.

Gerrard: Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is not for sale, manager Rafael Benitez said. Real Madrid director Benito Floro said earlier this week that he wanted to sign the England midfielder. But Benitez said: "Steven Gerrard is not for sale. I don't want to waste my time talking about it."

Mastercard: MasterCard said it filed a complaint in the US District Court seeking an injunction against FIFA from moving forward with an agreement with Visa to sponsor the 2010 and 2014 World Cups. MasterCard said FIFA had entered into that relationship with Visa "despite having a contractual agreement giving MasterCard the right of first refusal to continue to be the category-exclusive sponsor of those events".

Tacchinardi: Italian midfielder Alessio Tacchinardi has extended his loan deal with Villarreal until the end of next season, the club said yesterday. The 30-year-old joined Villarreal on a one-year loan from Juventus last July after 11 seasons with the Serie A side.

Carsley: Everton midfielder Lee Carsley's appeal against his sending-off against Chelsea has been rejected and he will miss the final three games of the season, the FA said yesterday. Carsley was shown a straight red card two minutes after the re-start for a foul on Ivory Coast striker Didier Drogba in Monday's Premier League game.

Saddam lawyer: One of Saddam Hussein's lawyers, controversial advocate Giovanni di Stefano, is considering investing over one million euros in Irish football team Shelbourne FC. The Anglo-Italian lawyer is reported to want total control of the cash-strapped club if he gets the chance.
