I fully agree with the contents of the contribution aptly named Inefficiency And Inaction Reign At Local Council (November 30, Richard Matrenza).

The St Paul’s Bay local council is not giving the service and attention this area urgently deserves and the time that is being dedicated to run the council affairs does not suffice to do the job.

When the Lady Mayoress was first elected, some years back, we met in Qawra and discussed some of the urgent works that are badly needed in the area and she requested I prepare a report about the pitfalls in the area, which I duly completed and forwarded within days. To date, not one of the items on this three-page report has been taken into hand.

Some months back I had a second site meeting with the Lady Mayoress and again discussed some of the issues that one is faced with on a daily basis in Qawra and again I was requested to send in a written report which I forwarded within days and again nothing has been done whatsoever.

Although one cannot expect that “one will please all the people at all times”, “ignoring everyone” does not say much for the smooth running and efficiency of this district. This situation is now unsustainable and since my valuable and free contributions have been totally ignored I will certainly not be offering any further assistance as I too hate being ignored.
