The Computer Society of Malta (CSM) has announced the third edition of its annual awards ceremony. As from this year the name of this event has been changed to the ICT Malta Awards.

These awards recognise and reward innovation and achievement by those working in the field of information technology in Malta.

The ICT Malta Awards night will be held during the month of May and will provide the ideal setting to network with leading players from the industry.

There are eight categories of awards:

IT Project Award
IT Product Award
e-Business Solution Award
IT Education Award
IT Company Award
Micro-enterprise Award
Information Society Award
R&D Award

The IT Company Award recognises growth and revenue for suppliers of IT products and services.

The IT Project Award recognises end-user projects that have exploited information technology to achieve benefits in efficiency, effectiveness, service delivery or quality, as well as cost reduction.

The IT Product Award recognises achievement in the development of new products or enhancements of existing products in ICT.

The e-Business Solution Award takes into account projects, products or business solutions making use of internet technology.

Non-IT company or public body with fewer than 50 employees can submit and win the Micro-enterprise Award if they demonstrate the best use of IT throughout its organisation to meet objectives, achieve greater competitiveness or improve public services

The IT Education Award recognises excellence in the use of IT solutions in the educational and training sector.

The Information Society Award sanctions the effort by an individual or organisation with the objective of promoting digital literacy or encouraging greater use of technology in everyday life. Eligible actions could include projects, programmes or sustained contributions to magazines and media.

The R&D Award recognises creative effort and achievement in the acquisition or application of knowledge, or development of cutting-edge techniques or products in the field of information and communications technology.

All individuals as well as public, private and voluntary organisations operating from Malta are eligible for participation in the awards except persons connected directly with CSM, the judges and award sponsors.
