AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic could be a key absentee when the Rossoneri host Chievo in Serie A on Saturday.

The Swede is struggling with a stomach complaint and is a major doubt for the capital club, who are attempting to make it three league wins on the spin as they bid to close the two-point gap to leaders Lazio.

Milan face Real Madrid at the Bernabeu in the Champions League on Tuesday and the club's top scorer may err on the side of caution this weekend in order to be fit for that game.

"I've had stomach cramps and I haven't been able to train," said Ibrahimovic. "I have to reconsider whether I can play against Chievo.

"The Champions League is more important and I want to be 100% for the game against Real Madrid.

"I will talk to the medical team and will do what is best for me."

Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri could instead look to Brazilian pair Robinho and Alexandre Pato to deliver the goals, with both on good form and on target in Brazil's 2-0 win over Ukraine on Monday.

Inter Milan are level on 11 points with Milan and Napoli and this weekend travel to face a Cagliari side which remains unbeaten at the Sant' Elia this season.

A tough examination for Rafael Benitez's side will be made that bid harder by the possible absence of several key players, among them Diego Milito, Goran Pandev and Esteban Cambiasso, all of whom are carrying knocks.

Lazio expect to pick up where they left off before the international break when they travel to Bari.

The Romans won their last two league games to take over sole possession of first place.

Napoli visit Catania this weekend and will again be hoping to get the best from Edison Cavani.

The Uruguay international has struck five goals in six league games to lift Napoli to third place.

Juventus played well in a goalless draw at Inter last time out and will try to build on that performance when they meet Lecce in Turin on Sunday.

Fiorentina will have an added motivation to beat Sampdoria in Genoa knowing that a defeat could see them drop into the relegation zone, while struggling Roma host Genoa on Saturday desperate to claim their second win of the campaign.

Palermo will welcome back striker Fabrizio Miccoli for Sunday's match against Bologna. The Italian forward has recovered from a muscular injury and is set to make his first league appearance of the season.

Parma have not won a game since the opening day against Brescia on August 29 and will try and stop the rot against Cesena, while Udinese - who secured their first win of the campaign against Cesena last time out - will look to keep the momentum going as they travel to Brescia.
