Valletta striker Ian Zammit has joined Mosta on loan for one year.

Zammit, 24, has moved to Mosta to boost his chances of playing regular football after struggling to hold down a regular place with Valletta last season.

Having gained promotion to the Premier League after beating Melita in a play-off last season, Mosta, led by coach Oliver Spiteri, have been working to bolster their squad ahead of the 2011/12 campaign.

Another Valletta player, midfielder Kevin Sammut, has all but agreed a one-year loan move to Ħamrun Spartans. Like Zammit, Sammut is hopeful of getting more first-team opportunities at Ħamrun Spartans after being used mostly as a substitute in Valletta's pre-season games and Champions League commitments this summer.

Jesmond Zammit, the former team manager of Valletta who is now the coach of the Spartans, sees Sammut as the ideal player to lead his team's midfield.

Sammut, who had a loan spell with the Spartans earlier in his career, is expected to be presented to the media tomorrow evening.
