The Malta Amateur Athletic Association will be holding an IAAF Level I course for coaches between September 1 and 15 at Marsa. The course will be conducted by an IAAF-appointed lecturer who will be assisted by MAAA staff.

This will be the third course of its kind for the MAAA since 1996. Participants must be at least 18 years of age.

Prospective participants may apply through their club or else directly to the MAAA (The Secretary, Malta AAA, 60 Autumn Street, Mosta MST 07 - tel: 2142-3834; fax: 2142-3833; e-mail: eattard@waldonet.net.mt).

The IAAF Level I course is only one of a number of initiatives that the MAAA will be organising in the immediate future. The association intends to hold a number of shorter coaching courses in conjunction with UK Athletics. Those who qualify or who have already qualified through courses organised by the MAAA are eligible for a coaching licence.

The MAAA is also considering participating in the IAAF Level 2 Course (Throws) in Nairobi later on this year.
