As the second car to bear the 'i' prefix, the i10 will take over a key role in Hyundai's portfolio. The i10 will be responsible for growing volumes and market share in Europe - and at the same time will be the new entry point into Hyundai's i-world.

For the first time, Hyundai is offering three engines: an upgraded Epsilon 1.1l SOHC (66hp), a brand new Kappa 1.2l DOHC (75hp), and a common-rail U1.1l DOHC (75hp) with variable geometry turbo.

The instrument cluster, centre console and controls of the i10 all demonstrate the attention to driver satisfaction that characterises the whole "i" concept. White-faced instruments with eyesight-friendly green LED lighting, plus ergonomic positioning of both the short throw gearshift and the minor controls, all play a part in making the i10 satisfying fun, comfortable and safe to drive.

The top trim-level of the i10 comes with features such as an electric tilt and slide glass sunroof, rear spoiler, roof mounted antenna, leather wrapped steering wheel and gear knob, and even keyless entry. The integrated 2-DIN RDS - audio system comes along as standard for all versions. The dashboard integrated audio system, capable to receive RDS (Radio Data System) features an auxiliary connection, allowing passengers to plug in an i-Pod or MP3 player.

The battery saver automatically shuts the battery down in time to minimise loss of power even if the lights are left on.

Like every Hyundai, the i10 features a highly rigid safety structure. High tensile sub frames, floor and bulkhead reinforcements and tailored blanks combined with B- and C-pillar reinforced hoop structures, also add the protection of special strength steels to the structure.

There are standard front and side airbags and impact sensing auto door unlocking comes along standard for power door lock options.

The i10 has the longest wheelbase in class, which leads to the maximum of interior space. For this reason, the interior was designed to have forward-folding rear seat cushions, allowing the 60/40 split seats to be folded fully flat.

In terms of load volume, 225 litres with all the seats erected is generous and class leading and copes easily with a folded baby carriage, sports bags or the week's shopping. Wide opening doors with grab handles allow easy access and highly competitive head, leg and shoulder and load room make the i10 even more convenient and attractive.
