An American woman who was shot in the head but survived the Egyptair hijack in Malta in 1985 spoke about her ordeal during last night's edition of Times Talk.
Jackie Pflug recalled how she put her head down every time hijacker Ali Rezaq walked out of the cockpit to pick out his next victim as the bullet-ridden aircraft lay on the Luqa runway.
Following hours of tension on the ground, including the indiscriminate shooting of passengers, the aircraft was stormed, resulting in dozens of deaths. The hijacking of Flight 648 remains one of the deadliest hijacks in history.
Last night's programme also featured an interview with former prime minister Kamrenu Mifsud Bonnici.
