A 58-year-old woman yesterday pleaded not guilty to trying to seriously injure her husband with a pointed instrument, while her husband was accused of trying to seriously injure her and their son and threatening him with a screwdriver at their field in Burmarrad.
Magistrate Michael Mallia heard how Maria Dolores Camilleri allegedly tried to seriously injure her husband at 6 a.m. on Thursday morning , also being in unlawful possession of a pointed instrument.
Her husband Ġużeppi Camilleri, 60, denied trying to seriously injure his wife, assaulting her and trying to slightly injure their son with a screwdriver.
Mr Camilleri was also accused of having caused more than €116 in damage to a motor vehicle, driving a tractor in a negligent and dangerous manner and threatening to use violence against his wife.
After taking into consideration that this was a family argument, Magistrate Mallia granted the two bail against a personal guarantee of €2,000 each.
Police Inspector Edmond Cushcieri prosecuted.
Lawyer Richard Sladden appeared for Mrs Camilleri while lawyer Noel Bartolo appeared for Mr Camilleri.
