A man who allegedly produced a shotgun and ordered his wife and son to leave home was remanded in custody today.

Emanuel Bonnello, 45 of Attard pleaded not guilty in court to threatening his 41-year-old wife Josette and his 25-year-old son Keith.

The court was told that the incident happened at the residence of the accused, hours after the couple were in court where they formally started separation proceedings.

Mrs Bonello and her son immediately  left the house and filed a police report.

Mr Bonello pleaded not guilty to threatening them, harassing his wife and being in possession of a firearm without a licence.

Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herreri remanded him in custody after considering the seriousness of the charges
