A Hungarian tv camerawoman accused of tripping migrants fleeing from police has been fired from her job.  

Images showed a man carrying a child falling to the ground, apparently after tripping on the camera woman working for Hungarian channel N1TV.

They were among migrants trying to escape from a collection point in the village of Roszke.

The tv station later issued a statement condemning the camera woman's alleged actions.

About 100 migrants were stopped by police near Roszke trying to make their way to Budapest on foot.

Officers were initially unable to stop them but later blockaded their way about 10 kilometres from the Roszke reception centre.

Police used tear gas to control the crowd before putting them on buses back to the camp.

The United Nations has praised Hungary for its handling of the migrant crisis but says the country must do more to ease the treatment of those arriving on its borders.

It estimates 150,000 migrants have crossed from Serbia into Hungary since January, most of them refugees fleeing the conflicts in Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan.
