Local residents helped by some firefighters as they walk through flood-water in Miskolc, about 180 kilometres east from Hungarian capital Budapest yesterday. One man died after a soaked sand wall fell on his house because of heavy storms. Miskolc and its region were hardest hit by the storms where several streets are still under water after two local rivers started flooding. Several families had to be evacuated and sand bags are used to keep the flooding under control, spokesman of the fire services said.
