The Grand Harbour will feature a unique pageant tomorrow evening, with a variety of events including boat races and a swim from Fort St Angelo to the capital by a large number of people.
Valletta Pageant of the Seas, organised by V18 Foundation, is being held to mark Valletta's 450th anniversary.
The shows will include regatta boats, power boats, yachts and carnival floats.
Among the most anticipated programme items will be the Għawma Toni Bajada, a huge swimming activity where hundreds will swim from Fort St. Angelo to Valletta as well as Tellieqa Telliqun, a race where participants create their own boats using various materials, which they then race without using motors or oars.
Toni Bajada is well known in historical lore for swimming between Forts St Angelo and St Elmo in the height of the great siege carrying important messages.
People can still apply to join the swim by applying online.
Donations will be for Puttinu Cares.
