A fundraising telethon in aid of Inspire is being broadcast on all national television stations today.

Packed with information clips, real stories, features, entertainment and lots of surprises, the telethon aims to raise funds and awareness about disability.

The broadcast will start with Sibtek on TVM at 3pm. It will then continue on One and Net TV at 6pm and picked up by TVM at 8:30pm.

One of the main highlights will be model/actor Davide Tucci’s attempt to set a new ‘hugging’ record.

“We’re all different but sometimes we are afraid of what’s different; we forget that different is beautiful. I will be flying back to Malta to embrace difference by hugging as many people as I can in aid of Inspire,” he said.

Other celebrities and entertainers will be joining Davide in his quest to set this new record, and the public is invited to join Inspire either by watching from home or visiting the studio. President Marie Louise Coleiro Preca will also be attending.

SMS donation numbers are already open and people can show their support by sending a donation on 5061 7359 (€2.33); 5061 8080 (€4.66); 5061 8926 (€6.99); or 5061 9215 (€11.65).

Inspire believes that everyone has a right to equality and inclusion. The foundation helps people with disabilities by providing them and their families with educational, therapeutic and leisure services.

It depends on voluntary help and donations.
