HSBC explained its vision to expand international business when a group of about 30 honorary consuls from different countries visited its call centre in Swatar.

HSBC has just launched a strategy to lead international business by assisting Maltese businessmen seeking to grow their operations outside Malta and facilitating foreign direct investment through its expertise and global reach.

The consuls visited Malta to participate in a Consular Representation Conference organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

HSBC is a partner in trade missions and initiatives organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Malta Enterprise to seek opportunities for Maltese businessmen to expand operations outside the country. Such efforts also serve to get Malta noticed on the world stage for the possibilities it offers for foreign direct investment.

HSBC's head of commercial banking, Richard Cottell, said that as an international network in 85 countries and territories, with 9,500 offices and 335,000 employees worldwide, the bank had unparalleled experience in seeking and facilitating opportunities for business growth.

The HSBC Call Centre in Malta employs over 520 people.
