HSBC Bank has confirmed that some information regarding its clients has been lost and an investigation has been launched.

The incident happened a few days ago. A number of employees are being questioned in connection with the case.

The clients who were involved have already been informed.

The data was in printed form and this was not a case of hacking. No account details were lost. 

A bank spokesman said no client had suffered financial losses as a result of this incident.

The spokesman was not in a position to give further details.
