Five employees at HSBC's Swatar call centre, which services customers in the UK, have been seconded to HSBC in the UK.

The employees qualified for the move, following opportunities to fill in vacancies in HSBC's UK network and have all taken up roles within the London area.

Victoria Spiteri, previously a customer service and sales representative in Malta, is now serving as a personal assistant to the head of European Operational Risk and is based at Canary Wharf.

Matthew Psaila, who served as a team leader in Malta and Andrew Mooney who served as a customer service and sales representative are both now customer service officers in HSBC's branches at Canary Wharf. Matthew has already received an award for his contribution and performance in his branch.

Clive Barbara and Justine Attard both previously occupied the post of customer service and sales representatives in Malta. They too are now customer service officers in HSBC's Charing Cross and Westminster branches.

"All the employees who went on to work in our UK network are being given the opportunity to find new challenges and see how another side of our business works. This is a great reflection upon Malta and the high standard of our own employees," Richard Brown, director, HSBC Customer Contact Centre in Swatar, said this week.
