Since the Curia's PRO was busy working with the No Movement for the past month or so, perhaps it was some inexperienced priest who came up with the idea of issuing a sorry excuse for an apology and embargoing it till 10pm last night.Yeah right!

Somehow I find this hard to believe! In fact I find it hard to believe that there's one iota of naivety in the entire Church's power hungry organisation.

The Church could have avoided all this by issuing its apology this morning, or perhaps once the results were out, but with all its scaremongering tactics it's more likely that the Church chose not to wait to issue its apology in order to hit this morning's papers.

You see, Sunday is the strongest day for newspaper circulation. Just to give you an idea, advertising on a Sunday paper costs approximately 1.5times more than advertising on a daily.

Therefore having a free press release published on a Sunday is also worth 1.5times more than having it published on a daily, but in order to make it to print so late in the day, you'd have to be as important as The Church and deliver your copy before 10pm.

And the Church wanted to be there badly, it wanted to hit the Sunday headlines in calculated fit of crisis to control the damage to its image.

Will it work? Unfortunately it will work with some, but I'm hoping that justice will prevail, and that those with more than a few lonely brain cells will see right through this. They will realise that by embargoing the letter until 10pm, The Church is blatantly admitting that its apology might have had an effect on the way people voted. Simples!

It took the Church more than seven years to somewhat apologise to the men who as minors were 'allegedly' abused by the priests, but this time, lo and behold, The Church couldn't wait seven hours before issuing an apology. Seriously!
