The Gozo Branch of the Friends of Australia Association (F.O.A.A.G.) has set up a hotline to help people who have relatives in the flood-affected regions of Brisbane.

It said that many Gozitans had requested its assistance to contact their relatives. These relatives were people who either evacuated their homes or lost all their possessions and could not be contacted by their Gozitan relatives.

F.O.A.A.G. said it received more than 200 calls from Gozitans for assistance to contact their relatives.

Four Gozitan families who lost all their possessions in the flooding intend to relocate to other Australian states or to Gozo.

The hotline number is 99427633 and e-mail friendsofaustraliagozo@onvol.net . The hotline is open from 6am to midnight every day and will be manned by volunteers. The e-mail will be attended during the same hours.
