Tourism operators have adopted a cautious approach to the environment contribution to be levied on tourists.
The Malta Hotels and Restaurants Association said the tax, “if managed well”, should not adversely impact tourist numbers to Malta.
However, it called for further discussion on the method of collection to avoid abuse.
